“Kickstarters football sessions combined with a love reading have been fantastic for our school” says Dawn Best, Founder of Best Futures School.
“The pupils are developing an abundance of skills on the football pitch with coach Lewis. Improving and developing physical skills such as coordination, balance and stamina, but also social skills such as communication, listening and independence.”
Lewis makes the football sessions fun, engaging and accessible for all pupils to enjoy. The combination of reading and football is interesting and works well. The pupils are engaged in the story and join Lewis in a football activity related to it.
The sessions are an opportunity for the pupils to develop skills for later life, become more resilient, patient, to build confidence and friendship skills, and to feel part of a team.
We’ve enjoyed working in partnership with Laceby Stanford Primary School to allow access for some of their pupils to join the football and reading sessions. It’s been such a joy to see the pupils mixing and making friends. The Laceby Stanford pupils even made Best Futures a lovely thank you card for being able to join our sessions.
