In preparation for next week’s lesson, pupils familiarised themselves with a ukulele, feeling the texture, shape, making sounds, and enjoying the sensory experience that comes from making music.
The soft sounds of the ukulele can provide a calming experience, and joyful one too!
We are hoping the pupils may want to accompany the ukulele sessions with a little bit of singing, and may like to write their own song.
Developing self confidence and showing a willingness to try new skills are important factors of every school day here at Best Futures. We aim to provide our pupils with exciting and different activities that develop the whole child.
In the words of Jeff Lynne OBE, English musician and songwriter “There's not much you can do with a Ukulele that doesn’t sound happy”
We are looking forward to next week and learning more.
